Speaker Bio

Dr. Deo Chimba is a Professor of Civil Engineering at the Tennessee State University (TSU) located in Nashville, Tennessee. He is currently serving as the Interim Department Chair for Civil and Architectural Engineering Department.

A registered Professional Engineer (PE), Dr. Chimba has more than twenty plus years of combined teaching, research and private consulting experience in the Transportation Engineering and Planning area. His research interests include transportation safety, traffic impact analysis and mitigations, rail, transportation incident management, and non-motorized studies.

Dr. Chimba received his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Florida State University and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from University of Miami.
