Recently named one of Knoxville’s 40 under 40, Jibo leads a select team of ~20+ researchers to provide their vision and leadership to define and align their activities with the projects, the group, and the division science agenda. He brings a unique blend of computer science with geospatial applications; technical and organizational management; and strategic business development with a track record of science delivery, technology leadership and commercialization, and, being recognized nationally for his contributions.
His core expertise is at the intersection of high performance computing, visualization, big-data, extreme scale data and analytics, simulation and modeling, AI/machine learning, and, with applications in meteorology, flood modeling, building energy modeling, agent-based transportation simulation, signals and predictive controls, massive scale image processing, and in the process, creating the functional organizations that deliver the research and/or operational systems.
